Home Office Reveal + Tour

My home office is complete! When I realized I would be working remotely for the foreseeable future, I began getting it together. I started with a Pinterest board to get inspiration like I do with most projects. You can also shop on Pinterest and that makes it so much easier. I knew I wanted the room to have clean lines, pops of color, and filled with meaningful pieces.

I started by hiring Vonzail Odom of LVO Creative. I shared my vision for the office and he picked out this wallpaper from Wayfair. I chose to make this the accent wall which helped bring color to the room.

When deciding to furnish the office, I knew I wanted some artwork by Black artists. The first piece I purchased was from Wilsar Creative titled Homebound. I found her on Instagram and fell in love with her work.

The second piece I purchased is from the artist Reyna Noriega and I found her on Pinterest. Appropriately titled Plant Mom, this piece fits perfectly with my color scheme and my lifestyle.

I knew I wanted a unique piece in the office and I had to pull in my close friend Jacoya for that. I‘ve known Jacoya since middle school and her creativity is amazing. After she did the decor and desserts for my mama's remission party in 2014, I‘ve been bugging her to show the world her talent and here we are. We found this piece at Re-Zone Boutique Thrift Store for $200 and it’s just what we needed.

We decided to go with hunter green to bring out the accent wall and gold antique mirror I found at another nearby thrift store. It’s definitely my office statement piece. To bring this look together, we went to Home Depot and purchased Rust-Oleum Ultra Cover Premium Latex Paint and gold spray paint for the knobs.

When furnishing the office, I purchased a few items at a time over the course of the summer. A few places I shopped for furniture and decor are Wayfair (office desk), Overstock (mustard chair), HomeGoods (lamp, vase, throw, picture frames), and Macy's Furniture Gallery (office chair) in Kennesaw.

I wanted this space to be creatively stimulating while also feeling warm and inviting. I knew I was going to be spending a lot of time in the house and

wanted to make sure it reflected my style.
